The Rockets Welcome Coach Kennedy to the Varsity Staff

I've had a stick in my hand ever since I could remember. Grew up playing in the backyard and in youth league in Ohio. I graduated from Upper Arlington High School in 2011 after a state runner-up, championship, and MSLCA Championship (tougher to win than the OH state title) my UA teams also spent a lot of time ranked in the Top 25 national rankings.

After high school I played 4 years of D3 lacrosse at Wesley College in Dover, DE. Had a .500 record as a starting goalie in one of the toughest conferences in the country. Graduated in 4 years with a history degree. I went straight to grad school at the University of the Cumberlands (NAIA), where I was a grad assistant in the first two years of their men's lacrosse program. We had a winning record and went to the conference tournament twice and held a top 10 ranking or received votes for almost all weeks during my two seasons. I also got an inside look at the NAIA, and it's rise as a legit college option for HS athletes.

After graduating with a Master’s degree in Teaching, I came to Marian University in 2017 as a full time D3 assistant helping another start-up program. After a shaky first season, I took over as interim head coach and helped lead a national coaching search that would completely turn around the program on and off the field. I got laid off in a round of budget cuts, but my wife and I fell in love with the greater lake Winnebago area and I decided to persue my teaching career and get into high school coaching.

I have recently shifted my playing to box lacrosse for the Milwaukee muskies, playing Defense in every game this season which led to a league championship in the Great Plains Box Lacrosse League.
